Correções de segurança acumulativas para Internet Explorer

O CAIS está repassando o alerta da Microsoft, intitulado "MS05-025 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (883939)", que trata da correção de duas vulnerabilidades no Microsoft Internet Explorer recentemente descobertas, referentes a problemas no tratamento de imagens no formato PNG e na forma de lidar com requisições para mostrar conteudo XML.

Caso um usuário esteja operando o sistema com privilégios administrativos, um atacante que consiga explorar com sucesso a vulnerabilidade mais severa poderá obter o controle total sobre o sistema afetado.

O CAIS recomenda que as correções para estas vulnerabilidades sejam aplicadas imediatamente nos sistemas afetados, uma vez que as falhas em navegadores tem sido amplamente exploradas e já foram divulgados na internet exploits (códigos maliciosos) com a finalidade de explorar tais vulnerabilidades.
